The name XI (Eleven) Miles represents the number of miles walked daily by Jammal’s father to work, graduate school and back home during the middle of winter in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, Jammal recalls seeing his father coming in at night, shivering from the cold, and at times having ice frozen to his beard. These images stuck with him as he grew older and pursued his education and career. 

His example of leadership, hard work, and determination is how Eleven Miles measures it's performance
